My long term goal is to be an Investigative or Special Projects producer. I enjoy building sources, interviewing and working on my own stories while supporting a team of talented journalists.
I graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Arts in May 2024. I double-majored in English with a concentration in Journalism and Strategic Communication. While at ODU I was a member of the Service Sorority Omega Phi Alpha where I served as PR Chair.
I was an investigative intern at WAVY, the local NBC and FOX affiliate, over the summer of 2023. During my internship I worked with the investigative team covering large cases like the Richneck Elementary School Shooting and the Codi Bigsby murder case.
During my final semester, the executive producer reached out to me about applying for an associate producing position that was opening up. I started working full time in February 2024. While there I worked with just about every department in the newsroom. I worked with line producers writing VOs, VOSOTs, and teases. I worked with Digital Content Producers writing web articles as well as producing content for Instagram and TikTok. I worked with reporters on day turn stories and special reports. I worked with the investigative team on long term projects and continuing coverage.
I also turned stories on my own which were presented as anchor VOSOTs or fronted by on-air talent.
